Mark IJzerman

Mark Ijzerman makes installations, performances and sound works. While his work is not solely sound-based, he often uses this as a starting point for his work. As a result, his work deals with the intricacies of the emphemeral in the context of perception. Technologies are not used for the sake of that technology, but to create a perceptive effect. In his recent audiovisual performances and installations he explores the interaction between sound, light and physiological effect on the body. To explore crossmodal sensory correspondences, he has paired sounds with the sense of touch, taste and smell.
